No reform will produce results as long as the political parties remain factories for creating political sultans and gods, president of the Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase stated in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
“They speak about the implementation of reforms. We wait and do not see results. The problems should be looked for at the upper level, in the political class. At technical level, a parliamentary majority was formed, but this does not correspond to the state of spirit in society. The decisions are taken at the level of party leaders, not yet at the level of MPs. We do not have debates in Parliament. We have insults and affronts there,” said the Constitutional Court president.
Alexandru Tanase pleads for changing the electoral system. “The model of the Baltic States is very good. We can borrow the system of Estonia, which is a very good one, but we cannot know if the Moldovans can cope with this level of democracy,” he stated.
The president of the Constitutional Court said the immunity of judges and MPs should be kept. The total annulment of immunity when there is no authentic democracy can be dangerous.
