Alexandru Suvorov is Moldova's footballer in 2011

On Friday, December 9, the Moldovan Football Federation announced the 2011 awards. Info-Prim Neo reports. The best player of the year, as expected, was named Alexandru Suvorov. The Moldovan international who plays as a midfielder for Cracovia in Poland won the award for the first time in his career. The 24 year old scored several goals both in the Polish league and in the EURO 2012 qualifiers. Dacia Chisinau's Artiom Gaiduchevici won the Best Goalkeeper award. Vaja Tarnishvili of Sheriff Tiraspol became the Best Defender, while his teammate Benjamin Balima was named the Best Midfielder. Finally, Dacia's Ghenadie Orbu was chosen as the Best Striker. The Top-scorer award went to Milsami Orhei's Gheorghe Boghiu, who netted 26 goals in the 2010-2011 season. Ghenadie Sidenco was named the Best Referee and Igor Dobrovolski the Best Coach, as he won Dacia's first league title ever. In women's football, Ana Zatusevschi received the Best Player award. The Moldovan futsal team was voted Team of the Year for its performance in the 2012 World Championship qualifiers and progression to the second qualifying round. FC Tiraspol won the Fair Play award. Alexei Muntean was named the Best Futsal Player and Andrei Negara the Best Beach Footballer. The winners were selected through a poll that involved over 200 specialists, members of the FMF Executive Committee, coaches, club chairmen, heads of FMF central commissions and heads of football associations.
