Moldovan weightlifter Alexandru Spac has won silver in the 77kg class at the European Weightlifting Championships held in Albania, IPN reports. He ranked third in snatch, and clean and jerk, but scored a total of 346 kg and thus finished second, IPN reports.
In the fight for the silver medal, Spac beat Razvan Martin of Romania and Andranik Karapetyan of Armenia. In the last three European Champs, the 23-year-old athlete came fourth.
Earlier this week, Oleg Sirghi became European champion in the 56kg class, while Igor Bour won silver in the 62kg class in Albania.
Natalia Tretyakova enters the competition in the 69kg class on April 12.
