The chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry for the Investigation of the Banking Fraud, Alexandru Slusari, claims that the first person guilty of the banking system fraud is the former governor of the National Bank Dorin Drăguțan. In his opinion, the theft scheme, from a legal point of view, was proposed by Dorin Drăguțan. Subsequently, the Leanca Government with the ministers of the time Anatol Arapu and Andrian Candu must be held accountable for their actions or inaction. The statements were made on the set of "Politics of Natalia Morari" show on TV8, IPN reports.
Alexandru Slusari claims that when the raider attack procedure was started not only on the banking system, but also on the insurance system, the attackers still did not know what the end of this game would be. "The appetite was growing. As they watched the incapacity of state institutions or as these institutions were gradually captured, their appetite kept growing. At first they thought of taking control of Banca de Economii bank, but then they looted the three banks. Afterwards they turned to the foreign currency resources from the National Bank so that, in the end, all these thefts were packed and put on the citizens’ shoulders in double amount," said the politician.
According to Alexandru Slusari, the fraud scheme, from a legal point of view, was proposed by the former governor of the National Bank, Dorin Drăguțan, and was supported by Andrian Candu, Minister of Economy at that time, while the guarantees were signed by the former Minister of Finance Anatol Arapu, and the Government's decision to grant state guarantees was signed by former Prime Minister Iurie Leancă. "I was informed by the Prosecutor's Office that the criminal case has been re-examined since August 2019 and a criminal case has been started on these charges and all the Committee's materials are attached to it," said the Chairman of the Committee.
In his opinion, the first to be blamed for the entire bank fraud and the first to be held accountable is the former governor Dorin Drăguțan. According to him, the Leanca Government also must be held liable because it has granted state guarantees without control to the three looted banks. "When you come and say that three banks have no liquidity, there is no money, but then in three weeks we see 25 billion lei leaving the country, what is this?", wonders the MP.
Furthermore, Alexandru Slusari says that he has requested from the Prosecutor's Office information on the alleged involvement of the husband of the Speaker of Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, in the billion theft. "Due to the fact that there is public interest, today the Committee sent the request to the law enforcement bodies referring to this company allegedly associated with Zinaida Greceanii’ s husband ", said the politician.
