Deputy Parliament Speakers Alexandru Slusari and Ion Ceban said that their visit to Russia was very productive and they had efficient discussions with the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev about issues related to trade, energy and the problems of Moldovan migrants working in Russia, IPN reports.
Alexandru Slusari said the painful aspects of the Moldovan-Russian relations are related to the energy sector, the Transnistrian region, export of agrifood products, protection of Moldovan citizens who settled in Russia. The lists of Moldovan producers that export goods to Russia should be reviewed as these include business entities that re-export and products from other countries reach thus the Russian market. Immediately after the administration of the National Food Safety Agency is appointed, the institution will start to deal with this.
The official also said that similar visits will be soon paid to Brussels and Bucharest.
Ion Ceban said the visit to Moscow was fruitful. They discussed several key issues such as the extension of the commercial possibilities for Moldovan producers and revision of the lists of exporters to Russia, the energy issue, the problems experienced by Moldovans who live and work in Russia and the restoration of the interparliamentary and intergovernmental dialogue.
