The team of Moldovan footballer Alexandru Epureanu, Istanbul Basaksehir, has qualified for the semifinals of Turkey’s Cup after beating Akhisar Belediyespor by the aggregate score of 3-1 in the two-legged tie.
After the 1-1 draw at home, Basaksehir won a 2-0 victory away owing to the goals scored by Adebayor and Batdal. The captain of the national football team of Moldova played throughout the game. In the final, Basaksehir will most probably play against Fenerbahce, which defeated Kayserispor 3-0 away in the first leg.
Istanbul Basaksehir also competes for the title of champion, being five points behind Besiktas. On April 10, Epureanu’s team meets at home Galatasaray.
