Moldova has won another four medals at the European Weightlifting Championship held in Tbilisi, Georgia. In the 85 kg class, Iurie Bulat won a gold medal, while Alexandru Dudoglo won two bronzes and a silver. With a total result of 362 kg lifted, Dudoglo became European weightlifting vice champion, IPN reports.
Iurie Bulat, who took part in a competition of such a scale for the first time, had an incredible performance. The 20-year-old weightlifter won gold in snatch with the result of 172 kg. In the same event, Alexandru Dudoglo lifted 165 kg and ranked third.
In clean and jerk, Bulat lifted only 185 kg and finished ninth, while in the general rankings he took the fourth position with 357 kg lifted.
Instead, Alexandru Dudoglo continued his great performance in clean and jerk, where he won another bronze by lifting 197 kg. In the general rankings, Dudoglo took the second position with 362 kg lifted.
France’s Benjamin Hennequin lifted a total of 367 kg and became European champion in the 85 kg class.
At the same competition earlier, Oleg Sirghi won two gold medals in the 56 kg class and became European champion for the third time in his career.
