Alexandru Cimbriciuc leaves PLDM

Former Liberal-Democratic MP and incumbent deputy minister of defense Alexandru Cimbriciuc announced his decision to leave the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) on a social networking site. He wrote that he will devote all his energy and power to his area of responsibility, IPN reports.

“With regret, I announce my withdrawal from the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova. I’m glad that I formed part of this team despite all the implications deriving from this. I bear in mind an exceptional team of the PLDM, the solidarity that was our characteristic, our ambition and wish to make history. I had to learn many lessons, but I don’t regret it,” wrote the deputy minister.

Alexandru Cimbriciuc didn’t specify the reasons for taking such a decision, but said that he will dedicate all his energy and power to his portfolio.

In 2009-2014, Alexandru Cimbriciuc had served as a Member of Parliament on behalf of the PLDM. In 2010-2014, he had held the post of deputy head of the national commission on security, defense and public order. In March 2015, Alexandru Cimbriciuc was named deputy minister of defense in the Gaburici Government.
