Moldova’s Greco-Roman wrestler Alexandrin Guțu won gold at the U23 World Wrestling Championships held in Tirana, IPN reports.
He scored five victories in the 77kg wright class, against Serbia’s Aleksa Ilic, Albania’s Ardit Ndoj, Belgium’s Ibrahim Tabaev, Yryskeldi Maksatbek Uulu of Kyrgyzstan, and Khasay Hasanli of Azerbaijan.
In the 63kg weight class, Vitalie Yeryomenko beat India’s Pravesh and won bronze. In Tirana, he won two more victories, being defeated only by the future world champion Rakhman Tavmurzaev.
At the U23 World Wrestling Championships, Moldova won four more medals through Irina Rîngaci (gold), Mariana Draguțan, Ion Demian, and Radu Lefter (all silver).
