Alexandra Emilianov became world Under 20 champion in discus throw at the competition hosted by the Finish city of Tampere, IPN reports.
Emilianov achieved the best result, of 57.89 meters, being followed by Finland’s Helena Leveelahti (56.80m) and Cuba’s Silinda Oneisi Morales (55.37m). At the previous World U20 Athletics Championships, Alexandra ranked third.
Alexandra Emilianov is trained by Vadim Hranovschi and now studies at the Kansas University of the U.S. The next important competition for her this year is the European Championships that start in Berlin next month.
