Alexandr Roshko, the caniddate for mayor of Chisinau of the Party “Our Home Moldova”, said he voted for a modern, civilized and prosperous city anf for freeing the state from captivity, starting from the capital city, IPN reports.
According to Alexandr Roshko, the entire election campaign was dirty and non-transparent and was held in unequal conditions, but the choice will be made by the voters.
The candidate said he will spend the day following the voter turnout so as to detect possible violations. He cast his ballot together with his father.
Eleven candidates are contending for the mayoralty of Chisinau. For the elections to be valid, the voter turnout should be of at least one fourth of the voters. The candidate who gains more than half of the votes wins the elections. If no one gathers the necessary number of votes, runoffs are held in two weeks for the two candidates who obtained most of the votes. If the elections are invalidated or nullified, they are rerun in two weeks based on the same voter rolls and with the same candidates.
