The candidate for mayor of Chisinau of the Party “Our Home – Moldova” Alexandr Roshko notified the Chisinau District Electoral Council and the Broadcasting Coordination Council of the violations committed by independent candidate Silvia Radu in the campaign prior to the new mayoral elections. He demands to exclude Silvia Radu from the electoral race because she uses undeclared financial resources, IPN reports.
According to Alexandr Roshko, Silvia Radu actively uses the services of the TV channels that form part of the General Media Group, namely Canal 2, Canal 3, Prime and Publika TV, without indicating the payment for these services in her financial reports. The independent candidate appears in the news bulletins of these channels exclusively in a positive context, even if these announced that they will not cover the election campaign. By such actions, the rights of the other candidates are infringed. Consequently, the election outcome will be decisively influenced.
Alexandr Rohko requested the Chisinau District Electoral Council to obliged Silvia Radu to include the costs related to the placing of advertisements on the channels that form part of General Media Group in her financial reports.
The candidate also requested the Broadcasting Coordination Council to monitor the four TV channels during the election campaign as from April 13, to ascertain as false the statements concerning the non-covering of the election campaign and to penalize the broadcasters. The accumulated materials should be transmitted to the law enforcement agencies so that the administrators of the channels are held accountable.
