Alexandr Nesterovschi announced his decision to withdraw from the parliamentary group of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS). The Socialists said the MP should come to the party and provide explanations or should vacate his seat of MP, IPN reports.
Socialist MP Vlad Batrîncea said that Parliament is the body that represents the people who support parties, teams and views, not particular persons who promote their own interests. “I request the law enforcement bodies to clarify the cases witnessed the past 13 months, when MPs who should be protected by law – their freedom of thought and action – were subject to different attempts and pressure so that they leave the group and become independent or were threatened or made generous offers to join another party,” stated Vlad Batrîncea.
In this connection, PAS MP Lilian Carp said the Socialists, when they speak about party switching, should say exactly who made Alexandr Nesterovschi leave the BCS. The Prosecutor’s Office should be notified of this case so that it takes measures.
Alexandr Nesterovschi entered Parliament as a substitute candidate on the BCS lists. He also served as an MP after the elections of 2014, being elected on the Socialist ticket.
