The president of the Party of Regions Alexandr Kalinin demands that the Government should solve the problem of salary arrears at Moldova’s Railways. In a press briefing at IPN, Alexandr Kalinin said the company’s employees haven’t been paid salaries for over half a year and he pledged to help them.

“We will maintain the industry. You had over 7,000 employees and now have fewer than 1,500,” said the politician, addressing the administration of the company.

According to Alexandr Kalinin, the Party of Regions was always for justice and acted to defend the citizens who need assistance, either they are in Moldova, in the EU or in Russia.

“You came to our meetings with children and told me that you do not have money to feed your children. You showed the lending contracts with microfinance organizations and now your tangible or intangible assets can be taken away from you. I will help you cope with this difficulty,” he stated.

The leader of the Party of Regions thanked all the citizens who support their party and its program. The party pleads for keeping the statehood, the republic.

Alexandr Kalinin announced that he will go on hunger strike to show his support for the employees of Moldova’s Railways. In the Great National Assembly Square, he will pitch a tent in which he will stay uninterruptedly. To ensure convenience, he will make statements for the press each day at 10am.
