Radu Albot for the first time qualified for the semifinals of a tournament of the ATP 250 series. In the quarterfinals of the competition of Metz, he beat Lithuania’s Ricardas Berankis, World No. 103, in two sets, IPN reports.

Albot won the first set on a tiebreaker 7-6. The second set ended by 6-4 also in his favor. In the first two rounds of the tournament, Radu Albot eliminated Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Marton Fucsovics, who are among the world’s best 70 tennis players.

In the semifinal, the Moldovan athlete meets France’s Gilles Simon, World No. 39.
