Radu Albot managed to qualify for the final of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Miami after defeating Ukraine’s 111th ranked Sergyi Stakhovsky 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, IPN reports.
The decisive set was tense, with the score standing at 4-4. The game ended after the Ukrainian player served and made an unforced error, enabling thus Albot to go through to the final of an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 for the second time, after Indian Wells.
In the previous qualifying round, Albot won against Sweden’s 153rd ranked Ymer. The competition’s favorites Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray withdrew from the Miami tournament because of injury.
