Moldavan tennis player Radu Albot ousted Croatian Marin Cilic (ATP #18), 6-4, 7-6, in the first round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, USA.

Marin Cilic is the winner of the 2014 US Open tournament. Three years later, the Croatian tennis player reached the final of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament, and last year played in the last day at the Australian Open. Albot and Cilic also clashed at the 2016 Rio Olympics, when the Croatian won in two sets, 6-3, 6-4.

In the second round of the Cincinnati tournament, Radu Albot (#39), will meet the winner of the Serbian Laslo Jere and Argentine Diego Schwartzman match.
