After he was eliminated in the first round by Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics, Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot took revenge in the doubles of the Australian Open, IPN reports.
Together with South-Korean player Hyeong Chung, Albot beat the second seed of the competition and qualified for the 1/8 finals. The Chung/Albot duo won against the pair Henri Kontinen and John Peers by 6-4, 7-6, producing the biggest surprise so far in the doubles of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year.
In the 1/8 finals, the Moldovan-South Korean duo plays against the winner of the game between Matkowski/Qureshi and Lindstedt/Skugor. In 2015, Albot reached the quarterfinals of Roland Garros in the doubles.
