Ala Nemerenco: I will go to Parliament to answer MPs’ questions

Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco is ready to go to Parliament to provide information about the pandemic situation and to respond to MPs’ questions following the simple motion against the Ministry submitted by the BCS MPs, IPN reports.

According to the official, any motion is a democratic exercise pointing to the level of democracy in a society.  “I will go to Parliament and will use this possibility to provide information about the pandemic situation in the country, about the problems faced by the health system and to present the results we achieved during the first 100 days in office and our priorities,” the minister told a news conference.

Asked if she considers that the Ministry copes with the pandemic, Ala Nemerenco made reference to the number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova, saying it is lower than in other countries of the region and this shows how things stand.

In the November 11 sitting of Parliament, the MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) proposed a simple motion against the policies pursued by the Ministry of Health. According to the Communists and Socialists, the situation in the health sector went out of control. The prices of drugs rose. There is not enough medical equipment. The number of daily cases of COVID-19 is of about 1,500, while of deaths rose to 60. BCS MP Vladimir Odnostalco said in Parliament that the COVID-19 vaccination rate stands at only 27%.  The COVID-19 hospitals and wards are packed and hundreds of persons confirmed with the infection are receiving treatment at home.
