Airport taxes in Moldova are high and should be reviewed, deputy minister
The Agreement on the Creation of a Common Aviation Area with the European Union offers new opportunities for international airlines to come to Moldova. For this to happen, the infrastructure of the Chisinau International Airport must be developed and the airport taxes should be reviewed, said Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmic, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Octavian Calmic, who leads the talks on the creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Moldova and the European Union, said the airport taxes levied in Moldova are high and do not fit the financial parameters of many carriers.
According to the deputy minister, the infrastructure of the airports in Marculesti, Balti and Cahul should be also developed. The landing/launching pads there are in a good state, but investments are needed in modernization, especially in ensuring passenger security.
