The State Weather Service has issued a code yellow air pollution advisory covering the period August 13-15 after air quality tests in Chisinau, Balti, Tiraspol, Bender, Ribnita and Rezina showed high level of pollutants, IPN reports.

Considering that the weather will remain extremely hot over the next few days, the concentration of pollutants will continue to grow.

Natalia Caus, specialist at the Air Pollution Division, said the relevant services have been advised to spray the streets with water as frequently as possible. The public is advised to avoid crowded areas and spaces.
