The maximum admissible concentrations of pollutants in the atmosphere weren’t exceeded in the municipalities of Chisinau and Bălţi during July 19-22, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, which made the information public following reports about an explosion at a chemical factory in the Ukrainian town Rivne, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry says the unstable weather, the influence of a cold atmospheric front, the variation of air masses, the torrential rain with thunder and lightning and the intensification of winds up to 18 meters per second in parts contributed to the dispersal of pollutants in the air.
The air quality laboratory daily tests samples taken from six stationary observation units in the municipality of Chisinau, based on either indicators, and from two units situated in the municipality of Bălţi, based on six indicators.
