Air Moldova seeks 15,000 lei damages from author of bomb alert
The man who made a call from his mobile phone to the police on April 2 and informed that an explosion was going to take place at the Chisinau International Airport is liable to a fine of 4,000 to 10,000 lei, community service or up to two years' imprisonment. Also, the airline Air Moldova seeks damages of US$1,225 (15,100 lei) from the culprit.
The legal case opened against the man was sent to court, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Prosecutor General's Office. The man, 38, is from Chisinau. He was inebriated when he called the police.
The bomb alert paralyzed the airport for ten minutes. The passengers of the Moscow-Chisinau flight operated by Air Moldova remained on board until the bomb squad finished checking the airport.
