Air Moldova adds third Airbus to its fleet
Moldovan fag carrier Air Moldova has added a third Airbus A320 to its fleet under an operational leasing deal, the airline said in a press release quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The aircraft, which seats 170 passengers, is said to be one of the safest, easy to operate, and comfortable airliners.
Air Moldova announced it has renewed its fleet, ceasing to operate Soviet aircraft altogether. Now the fleet boasts three planes of the Airbus A320 family and one Embraer 120. In March 2010, the airline intends to add to its fleet a new Embraer 190 under an agreement between Air Moldova and the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer signed in January 2008.
In January 2009, Air Moldova transported 26,000 passengers, up by more than 9 percent on the similar period last year. The highest passenger growth rates were registered for the following destinations: Moscow (26 percent), Bucharest (10 percent), Lisbon (8 percent), and Prague (8 percent).
Air Moldova operates 16 direct flights, including Frankfurt, Vienna, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, London, Athens, Rome, Paris, Moscow, etc.
