The Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) started to accept applications for subsidizing the excise duty on diesel fuel. Applications can be submitted to the local offices of the AIPA by July 31, IPN reports.

The subsidy is provided in two stages. For diesel fuel purchased during November 16, 2022 – June 29, 2023, applications can be submitted not later than July 31. For diesel fuel bought between June 30, 2023 and September 30 inclusive, applications can be filed by September 30, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has said. 

For micro, small and medium-sized farmers, the subsidy is equal to 100% of the excise duty or to 3,248 lei/tonne for 2023 and 2,980 lei/tonne for 2022. For large famers, the subsidy is equal to 30% of the excise duty or to 974.4 lei/tonne for 2023 and 894 lei/tonne for 2022.
