In the first quarter of this year, the Agency for Agricultural Intervention and Payments (AIPA) received 1,760 requests for agricultural subsidies from the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development, totalling 326 million lei. This is by 12% more than the number of applications received in the similar period last year.

According to AIPA, the investment subsides helped applicants create 406 new permanent jobs and 495 seasonal jobs.

AIPA has already authorized 1,073 applications totalling 160 million lei. Most applications are for equipment purchases. At the same time, there is an increase in applications for modernizing orchards.

The session of applying for post-investment subsidies will last until October 31.

In 2019, the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development is 900 million lei, the same size as last year.
