November 11 is the deadline by which high school students can apply to the UpGreat Project implemented by AIESEC. The project is designed to help the students to develop and engage in extracurricular activities, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The high school students do not actively take part in extracurricular activities and do not have many opportunities. The UpGreat project is innovatory as it brings a surplus value to the knowledge gained in the high school. This knowledge will be useful in the future, including at university,” project coordinator Anastasia Pociumban told a news conference. Irena Dontsova, representative of the AIESEC Finance Department, said the project includes six informative sessions on such topics as 'my view', time management, personal brand, pro-activity, sustainable development and speaking in public. A session lasts for 90 minutes. The courses will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 15.30 until 19.00. In workshops on Saturday, national companies will speak about their businesses. The high school students will be engaged in the organization of a similar training for ninth graders to disseminate the information gathered within the project. Alexandru Alcaza, representative of the AIESEC Human Resources Department, said the young people will be selected according to such principles as motivation, knowledge and experience. The deadline is November 11, 23.59. Ninety participants will be selected on November 12. They will be divided into three groups of 30 persons each. The training seminars for the first 30 students will take place between November 15 and 21. The next seminars will be held during November 22-28 and, respectively, November 29 – December 5. the participation fee is 160 lei.
