The channel AICI TV became available in Chisinau as well. After broadcasting for a year in a number of districts, AICI TV started work in the capital city on May 24. Its programs are broadcast through the cable network Sun Communications. The launch took place at a hotel in central Chisinau, in the presence of mass media representatives, and Moldovan and foreign officials, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It is the first regional television network in Moldova and an ambitious project. The network AICI TV was created with the aim of strengthening the intellectual abilities of the networks' members,” said AICI TV news director Veaceslav Mitu. According to him, the network was set up in September 2009 by the regional television channels “SOR TV”, ,”DROCHIA TV”, “ELITA TV”, ,”VTV-UNGHENI”, “MEDIA TV” and “ENI AI”. It covers over 400 villages and 13 towns, including Cimislia, Ceadar Lunga, Comrat, Congaz, Criuleni, Drochia, Dubasari, Orhei, Rezina, Soroca, Soldanesti, and Ungheni. The viewers are expected to total over 800,000. In Chisinau, AICI TV will air regional news and programs about the daily life in Chisinau and districts during four hours. The launch was attended by the chairman of the Broadcasting Coordination Council Marian Pocaznoi. He congratulated the network's representatives on the creation of a new TV brand and wished them success. “I think we witness a historical event because the founders of the television network AICI TV are among the most professional local broadcasters. You can obtain respect and audience only if you are impartial and ensure plurality of opinion,” said Marian Pocaznoi.
