Two events were launched at the National Exhibitions Center “Moldexpo” on October 23 – the 25th exhibition “Moldagrotech” and the 16th exhibition “Farmer”, IPN reports.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Viorel Gutu said the events brought together about 450 companies from Moldova and another 15 countries, including Austria, Belarus, Czehc Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Romania. They include related events such as the Golden Autumn Fair and the Animal Show that form part of the program of the agroindustrial week at Moldexpo.
The chairman of the Farmers Federation of Moldova Valeriu Cosarciuc said he was impressed by the agricultural equipment and machinery exhibited at “Moldagrotech” this year. The offer of the national producers is more or less satisfactory. According to him, the state must identify mechanisms to help the agricultural producers purchase equipment.
“There are practically no small tools and pieces of equipment intended for farmers and peasant farmsteads so as to help them easier process their products and obtain increased value added,” he said.
A number of small producers shared the opinion that “Farmer” should focus on the provision of services for farms rather than on the exhibition of agricultural products. “Uniagroprotect” chairman Alexandru Slusari said they make effort to modify the conception of the exhibit so that it will look different next year.
The exhibitions are organized by “Moldoexpo” together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the National Farmers Federation, the National Union of Agricultural Producers “Uniagroptect” and the National Federation of Agricultural Producers “Agroinfrorm”.
