Agriculture minister goes to Moscow to discuss wine problem
A delegation headed by Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc will go to Moscow earlier next week to discuss issues concerning the export of Moldovan wine with Russian decision makers, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Foreign Ministry.
Yesterday, July 8, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca had a meeting with the Russian Ambassador in Chisinau Valery Kuzmin. The two officials discussed subjects related to the Moldovan-Russian relations, including the export of wine to Russia.
In a communique, the Russian Embassy says Russian officials are ready to meet with Moldovan experts and tackle the given issue.
On July 6, the Russian Federation banned the importation of 18 consignments of Moldovan wine that included 102,000 bottles of wine made by three companies. As many as 23 trucks with bottled Moldovan wine and 23 trucks and two freight cars with non-bottled Moldovan wine are waiting at the terminal in Solntsevo near Moscow to be issued with quality certificates.
