Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov has asked banks to support agricultural entrepreneurs. He made his appeal during a meeting for the facilitation of farmers’ access to bank loans and reschedule of prior loans, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the meeting was attended by representatives from commercial banks, the Agriculture Interventions and Payments Agency, and agricultural unions. Minister Vasile Bumacov expressed his conviction that banking institutions will take measures to support farmers. Until now the bilateral relations were good, the banks benefit from the process of subsidizing farm business loans. The collaboration will continue even in case the program for the financial support of the farming sector, ENPARD, is implemented, mentioned Vasile Bumacov. The banks’ representatives agreed with the general terms of the proposal, saying that it would be appropriate to inspect every case separately in order to take appropriate decisions.
