Agricultural production lower than last year
The aggregate agricultural production volume in the Moldovan households of all over January-September this year was by over 10% lower compared with the corresponding period last year. The vegetal production fell by 17%, while the animal production rose by about 9%, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Bureau of Statistics.
The wheat yield in households was approximately 700,000 tonnes (- 45%), while the barley yield was about 250,000 tonnes (-29%).
The corn for grain, rape, sunflower, potatoes and grapes have been harvested at a higher pace than the sugar beet, vegetables and pitted fruit.
The rise in meat and egg production was mainly determined by the 20% and, respectively, 28% increase in the production levels at agricultural companies. The milk yield in households increased by 0.8%, while at agricultural companies it decreased by 3.3%.
