Agreements between different political players to support the new Government have been already reached, former deputy minister of justice Nicolae Esanu said in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV, making reference to informed persons with whom he discussed, IPN reports.
Nicolae Esanu said he had doubts about the designation of a candidate for premiership, but it’s not yet sure that the Premier designate will be able to secure the support of the parliamentary majority. “In parliamentary republics, the President must not become a judge. He should have taken into account the opinion of the already created majority,” he stated.
Political analyst Victor Gurau said that Nicolae Timofti has neither the capacity nor the potential to oppose or to try to designate another candidate. “These five weeks were nothing else but a holdup. The positions of the parties have been clear since they passed the censure motion. Both Nicolae Timofti and Vlad Filat hoped that things will clam down and they will be able to influence a part of the lawmakers to form a parliamentary majority. In all the countries with participatory democracy, they designate the candidate who constitutes the parliamentary majority,” said Victor Gurau.
He also said that the dismissal and the negotiations were a game as it was clear that certain components are on antagonistic positions. “The Liberal Party was marked by the requests made before the Government’s dismissal, which weren’t taken into account. I don’t think that Vlad Filat will be voted in,” stated the analyst.
Sergiu Ostaf, director of the Resource Center for Human Rights (CReDO), said there may be held several rounds of voting to confirm the Premier and, as a result, the installation of the Government will be delayed for at least a month, if the Filat Government 3 is not voted.
The leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat is the candidate for Prime Minister designated by President Nicolae Timofti.
