Agreement to develop air traffic between Moldova and the U.S.

The Government approved the signing of an air transport agreement with the U.S. Government. Even if no national airline now provides flights to the U.S., the legal framework created by this agreement can stimulate the development of traffic between the Republic of Moldova and the U.S., IPN reports.

The agreement will liberalize the air transport market between the two sides and will facilitate the airlines’ access to investments. It will enable to provide air services without restrictions, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Lilia Dabija stated in the Cabinet meeting. “The implementation of the agreement envisions the mutually advantageous development of the commercial and economic relations between the two countries. The implementation of these provisions does not imply the adjustment of the existing legal framework or additional financial commitments,” said the minister.

Currently, the Republic of Moldova has air transport agreements with 20 states.
