Agreement to attract Italian investors to energy efficiency sector

The Energy Efficiency Agency and the Moldovan-Italian Chamber of Trade signed a cooperation agreement that envisions the intensification of activities aimed at attracting Italian investors to the energy efficiency sector and the utilization of renewable sources of energy in Moldova, IPN reports.

The agreement was signed by the Agency’s director Mihail Stratan and the Chamber of Trade’s chairman Mauro Salvatori. The latter said the experience in facilitating the work of Italian energy companies in Moldova inspires hope. “We staged a lot of conferences and seminars for those who are interested in energy efficiency and the signing of the agreement with the Energy Efficiency Agency shows that we are near Moldova and we think we will be able to help the enterprises to invest here,” stated Mauro Salvatori.

Mihail Stratan said that Italy is one of the world leaders in working out and implementing green technology and Moldova counts a lot on the experience of the Italian companies in achieving the national objectives in the area of energy efficiency and renewable sources of energy. “The cooperation agreement with the Moldovan-Italian Chamber of Trade represents a commitment for developing sustainable relations and for preventing possible inconveniences for investors. To facilitate the attraction of investments, the Energy Efficiency Agency will propose concrete investment projects that the interested companies can implement,” he stated.

The potential investors can use such investment instruments as maps of eolian and solar energy resources to draw up business plans.
