Agreement on Small-Scale Border Traffic takes effect from March 31
The Agreement on Small-Scale Border Traffic with Romania will come into force on March 31, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said during a radio program, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Filat said that until then, the Romanian consulates in Balti and Cahul will be opened and all the technical operations for printing and issuing permits to the inhabitants of the settlements covered by this accord will be finished.
The Premier also said that the border crossing point Radauti – Lipcani will become functional in two weeks. This fact was confirmed during the discussions held with Romanian President Traian Basescu while he was in Chisinau on a visit.
Vlad Filat assured that Moldova made everything possible for this border crossing point to be opened. He voiced hope that the Romanian authorities will also observe the agreed terms.
