Agreement on Common Aviation Area likely to be signed in June

The Agreement on the Creation of a Common Aviation Area with the EU may be signed in June. Prime Minister Vlad Filat told the journalists during an event that it can be signed on June 7 or during the meeting of the Moldova – EU Cooperation Council that will take place at the end of June, Info-Prim Neo reports. “After the signing of this agreement, we will have the platform needed for the Moldovan people to have appropriate air transport services. This means more flights and more destinations. The agreement also envisions the provision of low-cost transport services,” said the Premier. It was earlier announced that Moldova will sign the Agreement on the Creation of a Common Aviation Area on March 22. But this wasn’t possible because all the decisions related to the conclusion of agreements with the EU and third countries were suspended from February following a trial between the European Commission and the Council of the European Union over the latter’s power to sign agreements with third countries.
