Agreed EU ambassador presents copies of credentials

The agreed Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova Janis Mazeiks presented the copies of his credentials to Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affair and European Integration. In the discussion, Nicu Popescu underlined the strategic character of the relationship with the EU, mentioning the main short- and medium-term objectives of the Republic of Moldova in the European integration area, including within the Eastern Partnership, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the official expressed his conviction that the Moldovan authorities will fully take the opportunities in such areas as the economy, digitalization, infrastructure, health and the environment.

Also, the Moldovan official approved of the European partners’ role in the process of supporting the implementation of the Association Agreement, the generous assistance offered by the EU and the new perspectives opened up by this for extending internal reforms and increasing the prosperity of the county’s citizens.

At the end of the meeting, Nicu Popescu congratulated the new Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova on his appointment and wished him success in fulfilling his duties in Moldova so as to develop the partnership relations with the European Union.
