AGEPI will have a new status

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) will be reorganized by being transformed into a public institution managed by the Government, IPN reports.

Under the relevant bill, the institution that will be created as a result of the reorganization will take over the rights and obligations of AGEPI. The institution will include two commissions – the Challenges Commission and the Mediation and Arbitration Commission.

Founded over 22 years ago, AGEPI is the only authority that ensures the protection of intellectual property on Moldova’s territory. The Agency’s top priority is now to adjust the national legal framework on the protection of intellectual property to the EU standards in the field.
