The Agency for Energy Efficiency announced the launch of the annual contest in the area of renewable energy and energy efficiency – Moldova Eco-Energy 2013. Those who want to apply (public institutions, representatives of the private sector, NGOs, foundations, mass media and private individuals) can submit applications between June 5 and September 20, IPN reports.

“The contest is at its third edition and this year includes a number of novelties. There were included subcategories. As in the previous editions there will be awarded prizes for the best communication and educational initiatives and for the best project proposed by young people,” the Agency’s director Mihai Stratan told a news conference.
 
The participation form can be downloaded from www.aee.md. The presented projects must be completed by the deadline for submissions, which is September 20. The winners will be announced in the first half of Decembers.

“By this contest, we want to show that the renewable energy and energy efficiency projects can reduce consumption of energy by 40% of the total. We hope that more managers of public institutions and companies as well as people will realize this,” stated Mihai Stratan.

Eleven wining projects were designated in 2012. Their authors received money awards of €1,000 or different equipment.

The contest is supported by the Ministry of Economy, the Energy and Biomass Project, financed by the EU, UNDP Moldova, and other donors.
