AEI welcomes return of PCRM to Parliament

The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) say it’s good that the Communist lawmakers returned to Parliament and hope that the legislature’s work will be now more productive, Info-Prim Neo reports. Speaker Marian Lupu said that the work in Parliament will be more interesting now that the Communist faction returned. “For me, it’s not easier or more difficult, but it’s more interesting for sure. When all the members of Parliament are present, the debates on the laws are more profound, complex and contradictory. It is important that this thing helps improve the quality of the legislative acts,” he stated. The Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said the Communist MPs should have come back to the sittings long ago because they belong to Parliament. “I think they are tired of traveling and working for the people,” he said. The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said the legislative body will continue to work as until now because they also had contradictory and heated discussions. He stressed that the Communist lawmakers’ return should stimulate the Parliament’s work. The Communist faction returned to the Parliament’s sittings on June 14, after boycotting them since the start of the spring-summer session.
