AEI to discuss several more issues before voting budget

The institution of extralegal posts for the revision and control of the state tax service and other provisions of the budgetary-fiscal policy for this year made the faction of the Democratic Party (PDM) not to vote in favor of the bill in the commission, Democratic leader, Speaker Marian Lupu said after the March 24 ad hoc meeting of the Alliance for European Integration that lasted for over two hours. The Communist faction left the assembly hall of the Parliament before the meeting ended, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Marian Lupu, the PDM’s set of proposals on the fiscal-budgetary policy was accepted by the MPs of the alliance almost fully, but there are yet a number of issues that should be discussed by Friday. Marian Lupu said the fiscal policy bill proposed by the Government envisions the institution of additional posts in the state fiscal institutions that would enable them to take legal steps. He also said that the PDM does not fully understand the methods of applying the fiscal policy for 2012. “Until July next year, when the fiscal policy for 2012 will be approved, we must consult civil society, the businesses and producers and work out a mechanism that would be accepted without objections,” said Marian Lupu. For his part, the leader of the parliamentary group of the PDM Mihai Godea said there are certain divergences as regards the principles of the fiscal-budgetary policy, which cannot be abandoned. He said he refers to the indirect taxation mechanisms contained in the mentioned bill. The head of the Liberal faction Ion Hadarca said the commission on economy, budget and finance was close to reaching a consensus, but a number of issues remained unsolved after the ruling alliance’s meeting held the same day. He voiced hope that the disagreements will be overcome in the meetings of the alliance or the AEI Council set to take place on Thursday evening or Friday by noon. The MPs of the alliance voted in favor of extending the agenda of the Parliament’s sitting of March 26 and for calling a new sitting on March 29. In the March 25 sitting, the lawmakers will examine the fiscal policy for 2011 in first reading, while the next day will try to approve the draft state budget law in first and second readings.
