AEI parties saved democracy in order to profit from it, analyst

“The parties of the Alliance for European Integration do no longer have the moral right to take part in the elections. They saved democracy in order to profit from it,” politic analyst Igor Botan said in the program “Fabrica” on Publica TV. ”If we have early elections, the voter turnout will the biggest problem. I don’t think we will ever have prosperity in this country until they joggle with the laws,” said Igor Botan, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Vlad Turcanu, editor-in-chief of Radio Chisinau station, considers the MPs will try to avoid early legislative elections. “Many things happened meanwhile and they will come out during the election campaign. The poor public performance in Moldova will be penalized as Putin’s party in Russia,” he sated. He also said that the anticommunism promoted by the parties of the ruling alliance may not work anymore. “Those who caused the scandal are not Communists. The MPs must do their job so that they are respected by the people. Each ministry should be filtered out. If early elections take place, we will have to ask the party leaders what their representatives did,” Vlad Turcanu said in the same program. Writer Andrei Strimbeanu believes only the early elections can help overcome the political crisis as there are no senior politicians who would tell the people their attitude to certain situations. He added that the present situation cannot be named democracy, but a competition of insults and it is very serious because these persons form part of an alliance.
