AEI open for dialogue with opposition and unaffiliated MPs

The leaders of the parties of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) said they are ready to negotiate with the opposition and with the three unaffiliated lawmakers who recently left the Communist parliamentary group, Info-Prim Neo reports.
After the November 8 meeting of the Council of the AEI, the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said the President of Moldova must be elected in accordance with the agreement on the formation of the ruling alliance.
“As far as I know, the three MPs who left the Communist group do not claim anything. They made such a move in order to unlock the political crisis. I can tell them that a politically unaffiliated candidate can be found only at the cemetery. Marian Lupu is as apolitical as Zinaida Greceanyi,” said Mihai Ghimpu.
Commenting on the statements made by his party colleague Ion Hadarca, who said the PL will vote for Zinaida Greceanyi if she is absorbed by the Democratic Party, Mihai Ghimpu said it was a joke.
The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat said the discussions with the three lawmakers who left the Communist group must be held only within the alliance. He confirmed that he met Igor Dodon and Zinaida Greceanyi in Brussels, but did not talk to them. “I had a number of meetings centering on party-related issues in Brussels. I saw Mister Dodon and Missis Greceanyi, but we only greeted each other. We did not have secret meetings or discussions,” said Vlad Filat.
The Democratic leader Marian Lupu said they assessed the situation and considered what measures to take. “We remain open for dialogue with the opposition and with the three unaffiliated lawmakers. I hope steps in this direction will be taken soon,” he stated.
Earlier, Igor Dodon, who defected from the Communist parliamentary group together with Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramchuk, said they took such a decision in order to help solve the political crisis. The previous days, Dodon wrote on a social networking site that he will not vote for Marian Lupu for the post of President.
