The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) will sign a joint statement in support of Dorin Chirtoaca in the second round of the mayoral elections in Chisinau. They will also appear in a video where they will urge the people to vote for the Liberal candidate, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”A large part of the efforts will be directed towards organizing and holding the second round of voting. Meanwhile, we should build bridges and make plans so that the extension of the Alliance at national level finds reflection at local level after June 19,” Acting President Marian Lupu, who heads the Democratic Party, said after the Alliance’s meeting. The meeting centered on the possibility of ensuring civilized competition between the candidates of the ruling alliance in the settlements that will hold the second round, and of throwing all the alliance’s support to the representatives of the AEI in the settlements where they will compete with representatives of the Opposition. The leader of the Liberal parliamentary group Ion Hadarca said the Liberal Party supports the strategy that will be implemented at the next stage. “We must coordinate our actions in the municipality of Chisinau and the other settlements and mobilize the voters as we witnessed passivity. It is important that the ruling alliance identify cooperation methods and the best solution,” said Ion Hadarca. Valeriu Strelet, who heads the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group, said a working group was set up to formulate the statement that will be made public in the nearest future.
