[– Now that the parliamentary session is over, please enumerate the best results achieved by the legislative body in the period and explain how they were possible?] – First of all, we managed to adopt a set of laws in a number of vital areas. The laws concerning the economic sector focus on the liberalization of the economic activities and demonopolization, liberalization of lending in foreign currency to Moldovan entrepreneurs. We opened new possibilities for those who work on the basis of entrepreneur’s patent. We succeeded in amending the law on advocacy so that the people benefit from qualified legal assistance. We reformed the system of enforcing court decisions that created a large number of problems, including at the ECHR, as many of the court decisions were not implemented. Thus, we decided to switch to a private enforcement system. A series of legislative initiatives concerning broadcasting became law. We modified the Broadcasting Law to ensure political pluralism at Teleradio-Moldova. We started to support the mass media, especially the print media, by eliminating the tax on advertisement publication. We also amended the Health Law and the Electoral Code, but the socioeconomic sector remains the most important. [– What were the failures of the Parliament in the spring-summer session of 2010] – The greatest failures to my mind are the non-liquidation of the economic courts that are the visiting card of corruption in the legal system, and the refusal to support the Government’s initiative to create the Agency for Relations with the Moldovan Diaspora, which could have protected and helped our people working abroad. [– Does the Alliance for European Integration exist? What mechanisms for coordinating the Alliance do its components have now that the parliamentary session closed?] – The AEI exists because there is no other alternative. The Alliance’s Board is working. If need be, there will be held plenary meetings. [– Why do the components of the AEI attack each other more harshly lately? Did the election campaign start?] – A political party is permanently in an election campaign. The election campaign started on December 7, 2009. It had been an inhibition period, but now the steam started to rise from the boiling kettle.
