The MPs representing the governing Alliance for European Integration (AEI) have endorsed the draft document for the holding of a referendum on the presidential election and next week the document will be submitted to the Constitutional Court, Parliament Speaker Mihai Ghimpu told Info-Prim Neo. In 10 days, the Constitutional Court is to issue a legal brief, after which Parliament will determine the date of the referendum. Under the amended Election Code, the required turnout in referenda has been lowered from three-fifths to one-third of the eligible voters.
