AEI Council meeting postponed because of Vlad Filat’s trip to Romania
The meeting of the Council of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) was put off as Prime Minister Vlad Filat went on a visit to Romania, chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu told the press, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“As if he is minister of foreign affairs,” Mihai Ghimpu said irritatingly, referring to the visit paid by his alliance colleague to Bucharest. He added that he does not know when a new meeting of the AEI Council will be convoked.
The Council was to convene on September 21 to identify a solution to elect the head of state. The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat announced yet that immediately after the Government’s meeting he will go to Bucharest to meet with President Traian Basescu, Prime Minister Emil Boc and other Romanian officials as well as with the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek.
