The chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu requested that the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) come together for an emergency meeting. He expressed his indignation at the fact that the lawmakers representing the AEI do not back in Parliament legislative initiatives that would give the mayor general of Chisinau the right to name the heads of municipal divisions and enterprises, Info-Prim Neo reports. Only the Liberal MPs voted in favor of the bill. The Communists reacted with applause. “I ask for a pause. I demand that the Alliance hold a meeting,” said Mihai Ghimpu. The Liberal lawmakers submitted the bill after this year’s local elections, but the colleagues from the Alliance did not support it. The heads of municipal divisions and enterprises are now appointed by the Chisinau Municipal Council.
