Lawmakers of different parties that form part of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) 3 want the ruling alliance to be kept, but on particular conditions. Related statements were made in the program “Reply” on Prime TV channel on October 25, IPN reports.
Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu said the party he represents wants the alliance to be maintained, but the Liberal Democratic Party must stop the attacks on the Democratic Party. “It’s a pity that such a situation was reached. Valeriu Strelet does not have the right to defend Filat from the Government’s rostrum. He should allow the judiciary to do its job. He should follow the example of Romania. High-ranking officials are often arrested there, but alliances are not dismembered and the country continues to be governed. I hope we will reach a consensus next week and the alliance and the European course will be kept,” he stated.
Liberal MP Lilian Carp noted the Liberals will not vote for the censure motion against the Strelet Government, submitted by the Socialist lawmakers, and will also not support the Liberal Democratic Party in its efforts to obtain the dismissal of the prosecutor general and the director of the National Anticorruption Center. “It’s true that some of the servants must be replaced, but not by settling accounts, but because they do not do their duty. I see no violation on the part of the Strelet Government. I also consider it inopportune to dismiss the prosecutor general and the National Anticorruption Center head, who must bring what they started to an end,” he said.
Liberal-Democratic lawmaker Tudor Deliu said he wants the alliance to be kept, but not in the conditions imposed by the Democratic Party. “We will sit at the negotiating table when those from the Democratic Party understand that they must not cheat, when the most influential and deceitful from the PDM stops misleading the people,” he stated
Socialist MP Vasile Bolea expressed his confidence that the censure motion against the Government will be adopted in Parliament on October 29.
